It can be produced by refining Chemicals in the Chemical Refinery
The following recipe shows how many Chemicals is required to make 1 unit of Fertilizer :
0.5 Chemicals allow to produce 1 Fertilizer
As shown above, a half of a unit of Chemicals can make a unit of Fertilizer, meaning a full unit of Chemicals can produce 2 Fertilizer.
Trading[]
Fertilizers are rarely found in trades. They can be sold by NPC traders with prices averaging around 80 credits each.
Salvage[]
Occasionally, derelict ships may contain a small number of Fertilizer that can be transferred on to the Player's ship.
Composting[]
The Composter can produce Fertilizers from Bio Matter, Fruits, Fibers, Root Vegetables, Artificial Meat, Processed Food and Space Food over time.
Uses[]
Fertilizers are an important resource needed for the crew survival as it is required for plant growth. Without it, Grow Beds cannot grow crops.
Each crop requires 0.1 unit of Fertilizer.
Be sure to keep an eye on your supply of Fertilizers so that you can maintain a healthy food production and prevent crew starvation.

- Before 0.8.21, plant growth would requires only Water, as Fertilizer did not exist.
- Upon its addition to the game in 0.8.21, 20 units of free Fertilizer were gifted to existing save files for older ships to have enough time for transition to the new growth system.
